Employers liability insurance is vital for any business owner with employees.

 

Why do I need Employers Liability Insurance?

It is vital as if you have employees and they get injured, sick or worse while doing their job then you or your business may be liable to a claim.

For example, if you own a small construction company and your employees are on a site and get injured then you could possibly be found liable if there could have a been a reasonable action taken that would have prevented the injury such as proper manual handling training, more secure tools and equipment etc.

In 2018 the average award for an employer’s liability claim was €30,839.* Without employer’s liability insurance this could be potentially devastating to a business.

 

What are the most common causes of Employer’s Liability Claims?

43.4% of workplace accidents are comprised of trips, slips and falls (23%) and over-exertion, strenuous repetitive movement (20.4%).* These are the two most common injury causes.
